DETAILED ITINERARY OF THE 15 DAYS 14NIGHTS BEST OF RWANDA -UGANDA WILDLIFE SAFARI & GORILLA TREKKING TOUR

On this lovely day, as you start this 15 Days 14nights best of Rwanda -Uganda Wildlife Safari & Gorilla trekking Tour, you will be welcomed by our guide from the airport/Hotel who will drive you and share with you the entire experience for the trip, you will be able to visit the historical moments of the area, you will be able to visit Butare market. After Butare, we head to Gikongoro where you will visit the Murambi genocide memorial center and the Central Business District of the city. Thereafter you will have lunch and drive to Volcanoes National Park for relaxation and preparation for the next day’s activity.

After breakfast, you will report at the headquarters where our driver-guide will accomplish the necessary formalities for you. You will meet your ranger guide(s) for a briefing about the greatest animal experience ever. Enjoy morning Coffee at the headquarters before the beginning of the trek. When you meet the primates in the jungle you will be allowed to spend an hour with the primates, take plenty of photos and ask questions to the ranger for clarification before your time clocks for heading back to the headquarters and be able to recall the memorable moments you have shared with the gentle apes in their natural Habitat. Note: remember to follow guidelines prescribed before tracking to have a safe trek while with the primates. You will return to the lodge and prepare for an evening activity which is termed as “Diana Fossey Experience” where you will tour the research area of the late Diana Fossey who let to habituation of the endangered primates. Indeed, it’s a memorable experience.

You will take an early breakfast and check out at the lodge. Our driver-guide will pick you up from there and embark on your next destination in another country. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is found in the southwestern part of Uganda and inhabits half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. You will pass through the Katuna border via the rolling hills of Kigezi before you reach your accommodation point. You will be able to take photographs and the guide will as well be able to share with you all the necessary information within your transit

Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will be given packed food for your trek from the lodge and thereafter your driver-guide will pick you and proceed to the park headquarters for the briefing before you go to the jungle in search of the primates depending on their movement that day. You are allowed to spend one hour with the primates once you encounter them in the jungle, take plenty of pictures and recordings for future reference. After the trekking you will be awarded certificates for taking part in this memorable experience at the park headquarters, you will have lunch at your hotel thereafter transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxing and overnight that day.

Wake up this morning with the fascinating beautiful mist and scenery views of the 29 islands of Lake Bunyonyi, you will enjoy a morning canoe on the lake and tour some of the remarkable islands of Lake Bunyonyi and the history behind each of the mountains. This will take approximately 4 hours before you get back to the lodge. You will then prepare to get back to the road to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the western part of the country. On this transfer, you will pass through Ishasha for tree climbing lions before you reach your rest place in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After your breakfast on a bright sunny morning, your driver-guide will pick you from the hotel for your morning activity which will include a morning game drive in the plains of Kasenyi where you will be able to view different animals in the park where you will be able to see Elephants, Hyenas, Buffalos, Lions, Kobs, Waterbucks among others and later after the experience you will be transferred to Mweya

On this day you will be taken to track lions in the plains of Mweya an experience that will take you to the hunt for one of the big five primates.  You will thereafter head back to the lodge in the afternoon for lunch and after go afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga channel where you will see plenty of primates which will include Nile Crocodiles, Hippos (the highest concentration in the world), Rare Leopards on a lucky day, Buffalos, plenty of bird species (over 500 species) like the Great Cormorants, Pelicans among others.

Go for a morning Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park to catch a glimpse of some of the primates you will have missed to see the previous day like African Elephants, antelopes, Impalas Lions among others. Thereafter this experience you will return to the lodge and check out and then be transferred to Kibale National Park the home for habituated Chimpanzee and other primates in the forest.

Early this morning after your breakfast you will be offered packed lunch at your place of accommodation where our guide will pick you and transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing about the procedures to follow while in the forest and when you encounter the primates. On your journey, you will encounter other primates like the black and white colobus, Blue Monkeys, Olive Baboons, and plenty of bird species. Once you reach the trekked chimpanzee family you will be allowed to spend one hour with them as you watch their playful movements, feeding, and other ways of survival in the forest, take plenty of pictures and ask questions for clarification. After the specified time to spend with them, you will return to your places of accommodation and relax. Later on, in the evening you will be taken for another thrilling experience termed as Bigodi Community walk where you will sight a lot of bird species and get to interact with community members, visit different projects where you will be able to support the community directly. When this activity is done you will return and relax at the lodge.

Wake up and enjoy your breakfast and after check out at the lodge. Our driver-guide will be waiting for you at the planned time to leave Kibale Forest and transfer to Murchison Falls National in the Northeastern part of the Country Park for another adventure, along the way you will make stopovers for lunch in Masindi and any other sightseeing along the route including the Nile River and the falls. Later in the evening check in at your lodge for relaxation.

After early morning breakfast, you will start the day with an interesting game drive on the northern bank of the Nile. You will come across herds of elephants, giraffes, antelopes, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, and several bird species also the unusual saddle bill storks. Be back in time for your lunch. In the afternoon you will cross and hike to the top of the falls where you will view the Nile waters fall down through a narrow gap, creating a glorious view of the falls from the top.

This morning you will have an experience to the Delta cruise to the bottom of the falls you will come across pools of hippos, be meters away from the toothsome crocodile with his jaws wide open and lots of game coming down to the Nile later on after lunch you will go for an evening game drive to view the different primates that you will have missed the previous day before you relax for the day.

Early this morning you will check out at the lodge and get picked up by our driver guide to transfer you to the next destination in Entebbe. On the way you will have a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola, here you will learn a lot about rhinos in general and gain further knowledge on this project as well. You will thereafter proceed via Kampala to your destination in Entebbe.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before being taken for a great birding experience on the lake. You’ll canoe through the marshes as you look for the colorful swamp species including the casqued Hornbill, African Jacana, Pied Kingfisher, and other 260 possible bird species recorded at Mabamba. You will return for lunch and later in the evening visit Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary which is a home for the isolated chimpanzees. On arrival at the island, you will be guided to the visitor’s center to learn more about the chimps and their lifestyle.  You will also see and photograph the fascinating apes in their natural environment a few meters away from them. You will take a boat ride back to Entebbe for a second night at your hotel.
