This full adventure of 18 days Best of Primates and big five Uganda tour covers all corners from Eastern to Northern and to western back to central part of the country. The national parks to visit include; Kidepo Valley, Murchison falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi and Lake Mburo national parks. You will truly enjoy the source of river Nile and Sipi falls outside these parks which makes it a full adventure of a lifetime.

Explore Murchison Falls national park, which is known as the top destination for tourists due to the activities in this park and the fact that there are wonders like rapid falls of Murchison falls national park This park is a home to more than 70 mammal species and four members of the big five that is lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is the 6th most diverse national park in the world with more than 650 bird species. This is the most visited national park in Uganda. Boat cruise on Kazinga channel is the most thrilling experience where you can sight hippos in big numbers and crocodiles among others.

Kibale national park is the primates’ capital of the world with the biggest population of chimpanzees and thus the major activity here is chimpanzee trekking. Bwindi national park, the ultimate gorilla experience is the epic of the adventure and you will explore the rare and endangered gorillas in their natural habitats.

Day1: Arrival at Entebbe airport and transfer to your hotel

On your arrival at the airport, our professional tour guide will receive you and give you a briefing about your 18 days Best of Primates and big five Uganda tour. You will then proceed to check in at your hotel. You will have lunch and then have evening city tour where you will visit Uganda Wildlife education center (Entebbe zoo) or the famous botanical gardens. You will then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day2; Jinja by road and explore the Source of the Nile

As you start your day two of your safari, you will have early breakfast and then transfer to Jinja by road. Along the way, you will enjoy roasted chicken in Mabira forest before you enter Jinja. You will then proceed to Jinja and check in at your hotel for lunch. After lunch you will go for city tour where you will interact with the locals especially market venders. Depending on our time, you will also do water biking which is a new activity in Jinja on Lake Victoria.

Day3: Explore the source of the Nile and transfer to Sipi falls

You will be picked by your guide to take you to the source of the Nile just after your breakfast. You will take a boat up to the point where the Nile separates from Lake Victoria. this exercise takes only one hour and you will spend more time exploring the crafts shops and hiking along the Nile.

You will have lunch in Jinja town and then proceed to Sipi falls. You will travel while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Eastern Uganda. You will check in in your lodge for donner and overnight.

Day4: Visit and explore Sipi falls and community tour

You will enjoy the locally grown coffee and then go to explore the Sipi falls. There are 3 falls, the 100m, 85m and 75m. You will explore all of them and the caves. You will return to your lodge for lunch and then do community experience in the evening. You will visit the Bagisu tribe and learn about their culture. The most outstanding of this is the brewing of coffee. From the tree to the cup for you to taste the African coffee is what makes this trip adventurous.

Day5: Road transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park and evening game drive.

You will wake up early and have your breakfast and check out of your lodge for a full day travel to Kidepo. This is a beautiful and scenic journey full of adventure especially of Mount Elgon areas. You will check in and have lunch and take a rest. You will go for your evening game drive where you will be able to sight herds of buffaloes, zebras and lions among other animals of Kidepo valley national park.

Day6: Full Day in Kidepo Valley National Park and evening game drive.

The day starts early in the morning where you get your packed breakfast and head to a game drive. This is the best time to see predators like lions and hyenas among others in action. You will site different wildlife like herds of buffaloes and elephants, big cats like leopards and lions on your early morning game drive.  Kanatarok hot spring is another highlight you will see in your adventure of this beautiful park. You will return to your lodge for hot lunch and short rest.

In the evening, you will have a visit to karamajong villages and homesteads just similar to the Masai tribe of Kenya. You will enter in their huts as you appreciate their community settlement in their huts called Manyattas. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day7: Morning Game drive and transfer to Murchison Falls National park

You will wake up early morning and check out of your lodge, have a game drive as you exit the park. You will sight wildlife like herds of buffaloes and elephants among others in the northern part of the park crossing Kidepo river. You will have lunch on the way and proceed to Murchison falls national park. This is the second visited national park in the country but the most fascinating destination.

Day8: A full day exploring Murchison falls and boat cruise on the Nile

With your packed breakfast, you will start with early morning game drive through different trails in the park like Albert trail, Victoria trail and others where you will be able to spot animals like elephants, giraffes, warthogs, elands, Uganda cobs and big cats like lions and leopards. Buffaloes are also spotted in big numbers in this national park.

After this game drive, you go back to the lodge for lunch as you get ready for afternoon boat cruise. On the afternoon boat cruise, you will spot different birds and mammals along this river Nile. Buffaloes, giraffes and hippos are also spotted while on this afternoon boat. The experience lasts for three hours. You will then return to your lodge for evening relaxation and dinner.

Day9; Game drive and Hiking at the top of the powerful waterfalls then transfer to Kibale

You will wake up and get on the morning game drive as you head to the waterfalls. Different animals will be spotted and you will drive into both savannah and forested part of Murchison falls. You will reach the breathtaking point where John Speke stood to affirm that Uganda is indeed the pearl of Africa.

You will hike at these waterfalls and enjoy the stunning beauty of Uganda. Nature and animal as you contemplate the rapids of the amazing river Nile forcing in a 7 meters’ gorge falling more than 40 meters deep. You will return to your lodge for lunch and check out. After this amazing adventure, you embark on the journey to Kibale National Park where you will arrive and check in in your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day10: Chimpanzee Trekking, explore Kibale national park

You will have early breakfast and then transfer to the briefing point by your guide. This is where you will be told about the dos and don’ts before you start off your trekking journey. This briefing is done by the professional game rangers and they want to make sure that you get the best experience with the primates.

After the briefing, you will start off the trekking exercise tt look for chimpanzees in the forests. Kibale has more than 13 primates, therefore on your way you will encounter other primates. This exercise depends on where you find these primates because nature can be unpredictable in its own way. Upon finding them, you will spend one full hour with them.

In the presence of the professional game ranger, you will have a lot to learn about chimpanzees. You will observe how they use simple tools and their appearances. This is amazing moment and you will easily spot the difference between them and gorillas. After this trekking exercise, you will get back to your lodge for lunch and take a rest from the long distance fatigues. Then Take your dinner and enjoy the tranquility of the forest.

Day11: Bigodi Swamp nature walk and community visit

You will have morning breakfast and take a walk in Bigodi swamp. This wet land is known to have the presence of different monkey species and baboons. You can even sport forest elephants as they sneak to the neighboring gardens from the forest. You will get back to your lodge for lunch and take a rest.

In the evening, you will visit the local community and experience their traditional way of life. You can take part in their activities like brewing coffee (coffee experience) and also learn about different herbs and how they use them to treat different diseases. You will get back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day12: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park and evening game drive

On this 12th day of 18 days Best of Primates and big five Uganda tour, you will have breakfast and start off the journey to the most diverse national park in Uganda. Queen Elizabeth National Park is ranked the 6th diverse in the world. With more than 6oo bird species and 93mammal species, you have a lot to explore.

On your arrival, you will check-in in at your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Get ready for evening game drive where you can sight big herds of elephants and buffaloes among others. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day13: Morning game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel

You will wake up early in the morning with packed breakfast and embark on game drive. You will have a chance to spot big cats like lions and leopards. You will have bush breakfast and get ready for the boat cruise along kazinga channel. On your boat trip, you will be able to sight water birds like African Jacana and other bird species. Other water loving mammals like buffaloes and hippos will be spotted in big numbers.

Elephants which come to the water points are also spotted here. Crocodiles basking on the sun are some of the attractions on this kazinga channel. After this experience, you will return to you lodge for lunch and get ready for laxation.

Day14: Visit Ishasha for Tree climbing lions and transfer to Bwindi 

You will wake up and check out from your lodge and head to the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Lizabeth national park. This park of the park is famous due to the rare tree climbing lions. You will also search for topis, elephants, monkeys, water bucks and leopards among other animals. You will proceed to Bwindi where you will check in at your lodge and have lunch. After lunch you will take a good rest and recover from the fatigue of the previous days.

Day15: Gorilla Tracking and Nature walk in the evening at Bwindi national park

You will wake up early in the morning and get your breakfast as you prepare for tracking gorilla activity. After breakfast you will be driven to the starting point where you will be briefed by the rangers about the tracking activity. With your packed lunch, you will start of the amazing journey in search of gorillas in their habitats. With the professional rangers, you will spend one full hour with these amazing primates called mountain Gorillas.

You will learn a lot about their life and behaviors. This time can be the most rewarding of your safari. Gorillas stay in families and you will therefore have a chance to visit one of these families. AS nature is unpredictable, you will look for these primates in the forest. Therefore, you can either find them earlier of later on your adventure. After the experience, you will come to your lodge and take a rest.

Day16: Visit the local Batwa experience and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast, you will be picked from your lodge with your belongings as you visit the Batwa community. You will be welcomed by their amazing dances and learn how they used to stay in the forests. You will visit their shrines and markets as you learn about their way of life.

You will then proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. You will check in and have lunch and then full relaxation. Take an evening canoe to one of the islands called punishment island. This is a place where pregnant girls were abandoned and left to starve to death in case of pregnancy before marriage. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day17: Morning nature walk and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

On this last day in Bwindi the home of gorillas, you will have breakfast and then take a nature walk near you lodge as you prepare for the transfer. You will check out from the lodge and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. You will arrive in Bunyonyi and check in at your lodge and have lunch. You will take afternoon rest and get ready for evening canoeing on lake Bunyonyi.

Day18: Boat experience on Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Kampala

You will wake up in the morning and have breakfast as you prepare for the canoe to visit the Lake Bunyonyi islands. Punishment island is one of the historical islands where girls who could get pregnant before marriage were left to starve to death. You will also encounter the locals in these islands as you explore this second deepest lake in Africa.

You will then check out from your lodge and transfer to Kampala as you reach the end of your 18 days Best of Primates and big five Uganda tour. You will be dropped at the airport depending on your flight schedule or to your hotel of choice.
